Neck Pain
Neck pain is a common problem which varies from mild stiffness from time to time to excruciating pain that rules your life. It is important that the cause of the problem be diagnosed because sometimes the cause of the pain can be quite sinister.
More often than not the discomfort is of postural origin occurring as a result of too much stress and load to the neck over a period of time. Often it can be secondary to shoulder pain.
Other symptoms that can occur as a direct result of neck pain are headaches, arm pain, numbness in the hands and dizziness.
Your chiropractor is trained to find out what the real problem and either refer your back to your GP for further tests or scans or create a treatment plan that will ease your symptoms and will enable you , over time reverse the problem.
Acute and chronic neck pain refer to the length of time that you have had the problem. Chronic pain refers to pain that you have had for more than 6 months. It is important that you don’t ignore the pain because the longer you leave it the harder it is to solve the problem.
